How to Install the Client to a Local Ubuntu Computer

Command line

Download Hamachi and install. (latest version here)

$ wget http://www.vpn.net/installers/logmein-hamachi_2.1.0.203-1_amd64.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i logmein-hamachi_2.1.0.203-1_amd64.deb

GUI

  • Navigate to http://www.vpn.net/.
  • Click the appropriate package to download it.
  • Open the .deb package with Software Install.The Ubuntu Software window is displayed.
  • Click Install.
  • When prompted, enter the admin password for elevation.

Once installed

Important: Before you can connect to a network, you must attach the client to your LogMeInaccount.

  • Execute sudo hamachi login to log in.
  • Execute sudo hamachi attach [email@example.com] using your LogMeIn ID (email address)to attach your client

First Steps

Note: You must have administrator privileges to run Hamachi commands.
Before you can connect to a network, you must attach the client to your LogMeIn account.

  1. Execute sudo hamachi login to log in.
  2. Execute sudo hamachi attach [email@example.com] using your LogMeIn ID (email address)to attach your client.

$ sudo hamachi login Log into your LogMeIn account and goonline
$ sudo hamachi attach user@example.com Attach the client to your LogMeIn accountusing your LogMeIn ID (email address)
$ sudo hamachi Display the details and the current statusof the client
$ sudo hamachi list List available networks in your account andyour peers.

Networks, where your client is online, are marked with an asterisk (*).

For online peers additional information is displayed, such as IP address.
$ sudo hamachi network <network ID> Display network information
$ sudo hamachi help See a complete list of available Hamachicommands, such as joining, creating orleaving networks, among others.
